Do you have trouble talking about Sex or asking for what you need in the Bedroom?  Difficulty reaching Orgasm, trouble getting or maintaining Erection, lack of Intimacy or Emotional Connection? Does one partner want sex more than the other?  Shame, Rejection, Body Image Issues, Anxiety, Pressure to “perform”, feeling like your experiences, needs or wants just aren’t Normal…. All of these are common difficulties when it comes to Sex and Intimacy.

What is Sex Therapy?

The process of sex therapy may seem intimidating or scary to some.  To be clear, there is no touching or actual sexual activity involved.  Sex Therapy, like most therapies, is just about talking, listening, and education.  The difference is that many people aren’t comfortable or knowledgeable when talking about sex, desire, and intimacy.  Counseling about sex can often go in many different directions including ability to connect with others, trust, intimacy, communication, self-esteem, body image issues, what we were taught about sex growing up, sexual abuse, shame, addiction, fantasy, etc…

Hilary works with individuals and couples to learn how to clearly communicate about sex, to accept each other, and to establish a reawakening of desire and intimacy.

Issues addressed in Sex Therapy may include:

  • Lack of Sexual Desire
  • Intimacy/Connection
  • Difficulty communicating about/during sex
  • Body Image
  • Shame
  • Embarrassment
  • Boundaries and Expectations
  • Sexual Trauma
  • Pain during sex
  • Problems becoming and/or staying aroused
  • Sexual Addiction Issues
  • Difficulty reaching orgasm
  • Sexual Identity Issues
